A Missoni Wedding

This week's Wedding Wednesday post is all about Margherita Missoni, a fashionista that I just lurve to bits. Margherita is naturally beautiful and preternaturally chic, so I was definitely eager to see what the Missoni scion had in store for her own wedding. Not surprisingly, considering her bohemian personal style, the bride chose a very gypsy-inspired gown to wed race car driver fiancé Eugenio Amos. While the dress was originally billed as being created by Giambattista Valli, the bride cleared that up on Twitter explaining that she designed the dress herself with input from her designer pal. The organza and silk? Missoni, natch.

I'm still not 100% sold on this dress even though it is 100% Margherita, which is what matters. I'm thinking it's the voluminous sleeves that are throwing me off. Still, I like that the dress is unique, dramatic, and features such beautiful workmanship. As for the bride's flat, metallic gladiator sandals? Love. For the reception the bride changed into a blush version of the same dress. What do you think about wearing more than one dress on your wedding day?

The Moroccan gypsy vibe carried over to the reception. Of course, most everything was covered in Missoni prints. I'm loving the colorful, laidback vibe. Are you feeling this Missoni wedding?

  3. I agree with the other commenters that the dress is visually stunning but I wouldn't want it for my own. Actually, I feel that way about the whole wedding. I would love to have attended but wouldn't choose it for myself!

  4. Her wedding was absolutely perfectly unique to her. Only she could pull off that gown, so so swoon worthy.

  10. 'I'm still not 100% sold on this dress even though it is 100% Margherita, which is what matters' I couldn't have said it any better! :) Agree 200% with u! Wearing a second dress for the dinner and party is getting pretty popular. It makes sense...I guess that at the end of the day, it has to be the bride's decision. XOXO

  13. She looked stunning. I must agree with you, the sleeves are a little over the top, but as you said, it screams Margerhita!
